The person on the other end of the call may find it difficult to answer a call in a crowded environment. In crowded places like cafes or buses, they may find it difficult to hear you. However, Voice Isolation is a secret iPhone function that might help the person on the other end understand your calls.
With iOS 16.4, Apple debuted Voice Isolation in 2023. Only Voice Isolation is currently accessible for ordinary phone conversations, but the tech business extended the capability along with Wide Spectrum to FaceTime calls with iOS 15 in 2021.
Voice Isolation muffles annoying background noises that interfere with your calls when it is on. This way, you won’t be distracted by your dog barking or construction outside your house while you’re on a business call or meeting up with friends.

How Voice Isolation is Enabled
- Tap the app on your phone.
- To access your Control Center during a phone conversation, swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen.
- In the vicinity of the top of your screen, tap Phone Controls.
Fourth, select Voice Isolation.
Use the same procedures as before and choose Standard under Phone Controls to turn off Voice Isolation. Your microphone will revert to its original setting as a result.
Wide Spectrum: What Is It?
In Phone Controls, Wide Spectrum is located next to Voice Isolation. Wide Spectrum enhances surrounding noises without altering your voice, in contrast to Voice Isolation, which muffles background sounds.
When there are several persons on a single phone line, Wide Spectrum is helpful. In this manner, not just the person on the phone but everyone may be heard.
Wide Spectrum can only be used for FaceTime calls at this time. The function may eventually be made available for phone calls, as it is still present in Phone Controls.
